Is this claim accurate? What about in 196x when Bush was in the guard?
"In the Air Guard if you don't make the assigned drill you have 1 month to make it up if you want to get paid for it. After that you have 1 year to make it up, but it will be unpaid, thus there would be no pay stubs."

as i understand it, he is and has been lying whether or not he was awol.
