I'm from Ohio, and I think Rep Sharrod Brown really has what it takes to give us another Senate seat. He won't run in 04, which is smart because Voinavich will be tough to beat. But DeWine is vulnerable, and I hope he kicks his ass in 3 years.
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/08/30/bush.dems.radio/index.htmlAs Labor Day -- the nation's annual celebration of the worker -- approached, Rep. Sherrod Brown of Ohio blamed the president for steep job losses in the manufacturing sector and for turning a $5.6 trillion national budget surplus into an estimated debt of $3.3 trillion.
Both men made their comments during the weekly radio addresses.
"In the last two and a half years, since George Bush became president, our nation has hemorrhaged 2.5 million manufacturing jobs," Brown said during the Democratic address. "Ten percent of our manufacturing jobs have disappeared. ... Good jobs in steel and auto and textiles."
The manufacturing job losses are among the 3.2 million private sector jobs that have vanished during the Bush term, the congressman said.

Democrats, Brown said, are committed to fiscal discipline and an economic plan to put Americans to work. The Bush administration caters to the wealthy, he contended.
