|
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 01:23 PM by veracity
This is a very important commentary on the Bush speech Monday evening. It shows how the Bush administration is manipulating the American psyche as a way to retain the White House: The Terror Trap! http://tvnewslies.org/html/terror_trap.html

5. Whatever they were trying to do |

That speech didn't accomplish it. After an event like 9/11 people were willing to give Little Boots the benefit of the doubt, but he's squandered that and I think his days in Gore's house are numbered...

This analysis is well off the mark. All day i've been reading news snips, right here at DU, where columnists, news analysts, and talking heads are castigating the president roundly.
The overnight polls are dreadfully poor for the Bush Gang. So, while the logic is ok, the results predicted are the contrary of what this writer claims was so skillfully done. The Professor

|
. . .they were discussing them on the radio during the drive in this morning. Nothing earthshattering, just that a large percentage of people don't think he made the case that this is worth $87B. Sorry, not a lot of details. Only what i heard in passing. The Professor

16. May be off the mark on results |
|
but it's right on in it's depiction of Bush's use of fear and his linking Iraq to terror.

11. The Frightening Thing ABout All This |
|
The key part of this analysis is that:
"The Bush administration has seen the handwriting on the wall. Recent polls reflect a growing concern about the integrity of the President and disappointment in his policies. The quagmire in Iraq threatens to spiral out of control. The jobless rate continues to grow, and the broken promises of the 2000 campaign are becoming more apparent than ever.
And so, fear becomes a necessary factor in retaining the White House next year. Without a nation awash in propaganda and misinformation about terrorism, and without a media to assist in its dissemination, there can be no victory. A terrified electorate can be relied on to re-elect those who promise that they alone know the enemy, and they alone can save us from disaster."
The amazing thing about this attempt to capitalize on terror as a tactic to get voters is that the White house would do so coming right after the former British cabinet minister, Meacher, revealed that the war on terror was nothing but a smoke screen.
My question: would the criminals in the White House go as far as to actually manufacture terror for their own ends against Americans? That to me is the more frightening prospect.

The PNAC plans that set the war into motion are too important to abandon lightly. These people have global dominaton at hand, and only need another four years to entrench themselves permanently. Jeb is on the horizon. No, they'll do anything necessary.
