A thank you to public servants |
|
I'm watching the Atlanta mayor, deputy police chief, and other public servants. They are fighting tears and still doing their duty. Stating the facts, not condemning someone without a trial, not releasing the names of the dead before letting their families know. They are our heroes who get too little recognition. Showing decency, professionalism, and protecting the rights of citizens.
We give too little credit to our public servants. The paramedics who respond to save our lives, the fire fighters who risk their lives, and the police who take risks for us. Yet, they feel the pressures and I honor them for that. Thank you for your service and all like you.

1. People somehow think public work is something magical |

and the people who serve us, everyone from elected officials to EMTs, owe us their entire lives. Quite frankly, they all do more than most people ever know or give them credit for, and they are all vastly underpaid for the things they do.
We owe them all a debt of gratitude.

They deserve our undying gratitude. Instead, Bush cuts their funding and gives it to the rich.
