Are you noticing longer gas lines? |
|
I have recently noticed that if a gas station, in my city, has gas for under $2, there seems to be a constant line about three cars deep. I never saw this when gas was $1.30-$1.40. My husband seems to brush off my observations, but I keep seeing it. Most gas stations around here are between $2.11-$2.25 and so everyone seems to flock to the $1.99 gas. Have you noticed this or is it just me?

4. I haven't seen gas for $1.99 here (TX) for awhile so |
|
have nothing to compare it to. The lowest price I've seen is $2.09.

16. Like I said, in most places it is between $2.11 - $2.25..... |
|
but there are a couple that have this price, only a couple. Everyone else seems to be doing average business but the $1.99/gallon gas stations are just doing record business!

It seems every time I try to fill up I have to wait or maneuver around others to the one pump that's open. I wonder if people are topping off when they are 1/4-1/2 tank down thinking they'll pay even more if they wait until they actually need gas.

The Sheetz gas station at the corner of Wendover and I-40 and they have caused the two gas stations across the street from them to come down as well. Mostly I see the lines at Sheetz.
Also, the Sheetz gas station that is newly put up at the corner of Bridford Parkway and College Road.
My friend was saying her husband said there is also a gas station on Dolly Madison that has $1.99 gas. I am not sure which one though. Hope that helps you.

Long lines at discount stations.. |
|
Stations here in Birmingham, like Racetrac, Cowboy's Fuel Centers, and Flying J have lines because their gas is usually $.10 cheaper per gallon than competitors.

9. I always wait in line, but Costco is just like that. |
|
If I'm not headed over to Costco I go to Am/Pm and they're almost as crowded, but without the orderly lines.
I'm a bit jealous of the $2/gallon gas, we were really happy to pay $2.35/gallon, and that was in BFE, Nevada for 85 octane.

22. No lines where I bought today |
|
but the pump clicked off when it reached $35.00 and wouldn't let me pump more, even though my tank wasn't full.
I've never had that happen before.
I paid with a debit card, btw.

12. i'd expect it to be 10 deep at under $2/gal |
|
but there is NO shortage, regardless of what some would want us to believe.
local news channel begins the news at 6am announcing the lowest prices, usually at the outskirts of town in the boonies.
Paid $2.169/g here and that was the cheapest locally.

15. No, but the gas station was out of reg and mid grade today |
|
I saw the signs taped to all the pumps and started to laugh, recalling both the flags during the shortages in the 70s and also the glowing orange reminder that if there wasn't any gas, I'd be pushing the car to the next station.

27. Gas prices from $1.92-2.07 in central and southern MN |
|
this weekend and today.
We now feel good because it is "so low" after a couple weeks pushing $2.50. Nice scam to make $1.90 feel suddenly cheap again.

29. Here is a way to find cheap gas prices in YOUR area..... |
|
Go to http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/gasprices/states/index.shtml and click on your particular area. It will come up with local places you can get cheaper gas. (for major cities anyway!) Hope that helps you all. I feel for everyone who is paying so much more than I am right now. We have to stick together and help each other.

when prices rise, people start putting in only ten or twenty dollars worth, instead of filling up, so more stops for fuel are necessary.
