I wonder why he took it down? You would think that they would have actually added content instead of taking it down entirely.

7. He probably took it down |
|
to cut down on the whining about not having anything there.
It takes time to formulate positions. Keep in mind - they're not just taking a stance on issues; they have to formulate statements that cover all of the bases and don't offend anyone's sensibilities.
And, please, people - "candidate" does not equal "webmaster". The guy's been in the race for a week. Give his staff a little time to get things together.

10. It is a year and a half |
|
until the election. Do you know what you think about what you're going to be doing in a year and a half? What difference does it make what somebody says about something compared to what you feel about how he says it? What if somebody that was pleasant and handsome and had on a nice suit said they liked the seasons and the way the beans grew in the garden in this or that compoast? Never underestimate a niaive man with an approach to campaigning that is so simple it is too complicated to understand and causes women and children to gaze in wonder. Have you watched Being There?

13. Please understand.... |
|
Clark does not need issues.
He is the former SUPREME ALLIED COMMANDER!!
(That is quite enough to satify most amurkans.)
But there's more...
He has been shot.
He has medals.
Why, he's a Rhodes Scholar!
And he went to West Point!
He gets a free pass to the oval office. Issues and positions are merely nuisances. He's the DLC's great white hope!
He'll make us all feel warm and safe. Just like mommy did.

24. As I said on another thread... |
|
If you had an interview for your life's dream job, wouldn't you prepare for that interview? Wouldn't you research the company 1st and have answers ready for the questions you know you will be asked?
clark has been "coy" for months now. During those "coy" months, wouldn't it make sense for him to have worked on how he felt about the issues facing a presidency BEFORE he announced (ten minutes before he knew Edwards was going to announce) he were running for the highest office in the land?
It would flat out embarrass the hell out of me if I went to an interview unprepared. I take that back. I wouldn't embarress myself by going to an interview unprepared. I would call and reschedule the interview for a time when I was prepared.
Know what I mean?
Who would want a president that was unprepared, say, when our country might be attacked?
I guess clark wasn't a boy scout.

19. Can anyone give me a time frame... |

between the beginning of your candidate's announcements and when they actually had a fleshed out platform, packaged for the press and their website? I believe I read today it was quite a while between when they started campaigning (back in 2000, essentially) and when they came up with a solid set of plans/proposals (this year, essentially). You guys seem to be poor sports and unyielding in your criticism.
Bah! If Clark release his plans and policies within weeks of starting his campaign, I think he will have bested your candidates.
In other words, don't hold Clark to a standard your candidate probably didn't pass either.

22. There's one who has them all beat. |
|
My man Kucinich jumped in in March, and from day one had better than 20 positions posted on his campaign site. He's up to 39 and counting now.
Not a bash, just a source of personal pride in my chosen candidate, and a small point of disappointment in General Clark on my part. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for him, and this does imply bad planning to me, a strange thing to see from a former military Officer.

Drudge linked the issues page, in red, in insulting terms. Within an hour or two, it was just a redirect to the Clark home page. An hour or two later, the Drudge link was gone.
