Why is NPR so Watered Down? |
|
My god, it's frustrating! A scandal that could dwarf Watergate is brewing and NPR continues to report on obscure banjo players and cooking tips. What gives? We need 24-hour progresive radio news and commentary!

I just said the same thing to my husband yesterday. I can't believe the lack of coverage on the only news channel I feel I can count on.

voaopinions.com
I was surprised to hear this , the most negitive reporting on Bush Co I have heard on NPR/VOA , broadcast was while most arent listening or have no access to email. Sounds like they are asking for a gerneral trashing of Shrub ! Hammer them everyone ! If this qualifies for LBN could someone please post it there ty . with news like this my drool bucket doesnt need emptying quite as often.

NPR has long been trying to our patience. Mara Liasson (sp) and Juan Wossname revealed themselves to be MWs long ago. PBS is still the only radio staion in my car but I don't really expect much from them anymore.

The charge of NPR is to fairly represent the truth. In truth I would argue that most of the reporters and individuals that work for NPR are liberal. However it is a business. The charge that media is biased towards liberals for some time has carried a great deal of weight. There has been a deliberate attempt on NPR to balance their natural tendencies by reporting stories with a more conservative slant. Unfortunately they are not very good at it. Thus they alternate wonderful stories that liberals enjoy with blatant schilling for the right.
It is as the latest Doonsebury strip points out. The left wants to be fair. It wants to give a voice to everyone. Even its enemies.

8. They are craven tools who don't want Congressional repubs.... |
|
to cut their funding. Also: The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has been at the forefront of efforts to keep lowpower broadcasting illegal. They are not your friends.

14. It's a public radio station (obviously) |
|
It's paid for by everyone, liberal and conservative, and thus should have as little bias as possible. What bias it does have right now is definitely more shaded to the left though. In any event, what the hell is wrong with some banjo picking? You should be thanking the NPR, you ingrate. Peace.
