Our gas went up 11 cents in one day |
|
how is this not price gouging by the oil companies? Bush could order a freeze on prices but thn several of his buddies could only afford one lear jet next year.

1. Of course it's gouging. Gouging is the essence of capitalism. |

Gas prices in the Puget Sound area did likewise: went up at least 10 cents per gallon as soon as it became obvious Katrina would hit New Orleans. Food prices will soon follow.

2. I filled up both our cars yesterday @$2.47/gal |
|
We're both retired & don't drive much. I'll make short shopping trips in husband's Plymouth van and save the gas in my Focus for a trip we have planned the middle of next month, when I'm afraid gas will top $3/gal.
It may be the last one we make for a long time.

3. I filled up last night for $2.47 too. . . |
|
out of fears that gas prices would skyrocket this week in wake of the hurricane.
I only have a Mirage and was at just under 3/4 a tank when filling. . .like 3.6 some gallons and $9.00. I'm on a grad student budget - I can't afford too much of this gouging.
