So what if Rove really has turned on Bush? |
|
I mean this is possible. Stranger things have happened. There truly is no honor among thieves. And Rove looks like the type that would do anything to save his own skin to me. Wonder if Bush has him frisked for wires before any meetings these days?

4. No doubt Rove thinks he clever enough |
|
but given that he "made" GWB, it's not beyond plausibility that he would "unmake" him to save his own ass.

12. Rove has met his match. |

Fitzgerald is a brilliant man. He'll grind Rove into a fine powder with one hand tied, kiddos.

I think this is why Fitzgerald didn't indict Rove yet. He's still going to use him to nail all the people.

2. I don't think it'll happen |
|
Even if he spends some time at Club Fed, he'll be taken care of when he gets out, plus, he'll get a radio talk show.

10. Would he rather work in the laundry of some federal prison? |
|
Or be in the witness protection program with his feet kicked up?

6. Bush is Rove's ultimate source of protection |
|
unless it is clear that Bush is in trouble and can't help him I really can't imagine Rove turning on his creation.
It would be like MichelAngelo smashing the David.

18. I don't think Rove would ever "turn" on Bush...but he will turn on every |
|
one else to protect Bush. Then leave it up to to "them" to protect themselves. If that makes any sense.
Rove made Bush and Bush made Rove. It's like having a close buddy you've known forever...gotten into all kinds of stuff together good and bad, maybe brushes with the cops when you were kids...but you've stuck together through thick and thin. Would you rat on your buddy? Or, try to take down by devious means those who were trying to destroy your friendship, relationship...whatever.
Bush is loyal...Rove knows that...and in his weird way he knows the Bush Crime Family will protect their Chimp Boy just like they have in the past. So, if Rove throws everyone else to the Lions...he covers his butt with the BFEE.

19. I think Rove gave up Libby. That's what "Official A" is all about. |
|
Rove is scurrying to appear to cooperate, and he gave up Libby, because they all knew Libby was already toast.
What remains to be seen is whether Rove also testified to the FBI in the early investigation that he first heard about Wilson/Plame from reporters. That may have been the orchestrated cover story. If so, Fitzgerald had the Sword of Damocles over Rove.
What also remains to be seen is whether Libby's memory will be refreshed as to how deeply Rove was involved. Rumors abound that Libby offered cooperation for dropping some charges, but that Fitzgerald held firm that Libby would have to do serious time in any case. In order for Libby to get out of this, he's gonna have to put the hammer to Dick Cheney.
I think that's why Bush said those nice things about Libby's service and sacrifice upon leaving for Camp David on Friday.
They're still pissing their pants.
