I was just telling a friend, the longer I'm away the harder to post...the times I look in and see all the new names, I feel like I am a newbie and yet a very long time friend, that's for sure.
My absences is taking care of my health, I just went on a merry-go-round being hyperthyroid and it's no fun, shuts down your life. But now cut back my thyroid hormones and starting to feel better.
I've taken a time out on TV, watching politics, except I've looked in on the 911 commission proceeding and of course that performance from Bush the other night..."stay the course and I plan not losing my job" when he certainly doesn't look and sound like he's fit for the job and that's because the majority of the people in this country didn't want him. And it's proved everyday he's been in office with his actions to make it harder for most people, squeezing the middle-class and workers' rights. Well you all certainly know his record, that's for sure. The re-pugs are going to try to steal another election...but this time the Dems won't let them!
I've peeked in here, from time to time, always catch the Top Ten and look for the names I do know.Happy Birthday to those I've missed and my thoughts to those who suffer great loss, family and pets, they are two of the same I say.
I checked down at the administration forum, happy to see no locks, don't fence me out was my type of feeling I got from that and I'm glad Skinner and the gang figured a better way.
It warms my heart this thread...I'm one for conversing that's for sure and I have missed you all. MaryPat and some others have kept up e-mailing, I've enjoyed hearing from them, they all lift my spirits.I love to send a joke or two...but I haven't hit all my list, trying to now.
In my last posting, when I'm not here it's usually getting myself tuned up to feel better, and I just turned 50, yes, and I still can kick your a**! I loved that segment on SNL turning 50! My celebration was a quiet one and I now join my friends in the 50s' club! Good age to be at as long as one keeps a sense of humor, it's not so bad and they tell me I don't look it, that helps alot. :)
Thanks Demfan for thinking of me and I appreciate the thoughts and giving me a opportunity for all of you that have posted, and my friends here, you're my kind of people to be with. And just because I'm not here physically, I am here spiritually for the true ones that do care about each other. The DUers'that have heart! We've become a much larger group of DUers'and it takes time and patience to form the bonds we need to substance us but with everyone working for the same goals the respect and caring can only make us stronger.
And that's one powerful voice not only for each other but to inform those who come here who think they can break that spirit, think again. Kerry has a mess to pick up when he becomes President, that's for sure but it's the people he will put first unlike what is happening now in our government. Everything for profit at expenses our great grandchildren will pay like the lives of those young men and women in Iraq that need to come home now!
That's what brings us all together, wanting to make it a better world for our children, we all are striving for the same thing, freedom and democracy to each individual that breaths. To hold on to dreams of a better life for all.
Thanks my friends for staying on course yourselves here, always informing, getting that knowledge out. DU is, to alot of people a home filled with friendships you surely can count on and some darn nice people to converse here in all forums but the Lounge as always been best for that. And for those who do try to ruin it here, it won't happen. We fighting for a cause that people come first and it's not that way now with Bush and look at what's happening, the world is more dangerous then ever because of his actions.Keep at it you DUers' who I admire that are here everyday trying to do just that. You have my deep appreciation with alot of others who see you doing anything and everything you can to see Bush is not in office in 2005. That's the dedication that has made DU what it is, a strong voice filled with GOOD people of the left wanting just that!
We are among the best DUers' here and thank you all for your great efforts, administration and moderators too! Friends, you all have my respect and admiration!
