So I am contemplating spending two months this Winter in South America, however I have limited interaction with folks who have traveled extensively in S.A. Perhaps a few DU'ers who have trekked through S.A. could share some insight into the do's/dont's and must's...
THANKS in advance...

1. Stick to Argentina or Chile |

These countries are the most stable if that is even the right word and more cosmopolitan. I would love to travel to Peru or Colombia but the situation there is just too precarious for me. Santiago is a beautiful place and Buenos Aires is well awesome!

in Argentina don't miss Iguazu Falls National park. If you have seen the movie The Mission it's the falls the native people send the missionary over. Very beautiful place
