Does anyone like The Fairly Odd Parents? |
|
I was prejudiced against it when it first came on. I never laugh out loud while watching it (er, with my daughter..yeah!), but there's definitely something about the attitude of that show that really appeals to me, somewhat reminiscent as it is of the Bullwinkle attitude.

It doesn't grab me, and I wouldn't compare it to "Rocky and Bullwinkle", but maybe I haven't give it enough of a chance.

4. I know Bullwinkle is sacred |

which is why I tried to be a bit circumspect in my praise of FOP. (I said "somewhat reminiscent," after all.) But I have to say that every time I watch it, I'm just amazed at what they get away with. Cosmo, the make odd parent, is a complete nut. Actually, Wanda's hysterical voice is what got me to pay attention to begin with. It might be an acquired taste.

3. "Bullwinkle" attitude--exactly. |
|
Totally irreverent. Ya gotta love the Ahnold character--shades of California near future?!
Very underrated; the writing is excellent for a kid's show.
