My roommate has a wonderful Isomac machine that pulls the sweetest ristretto you've ever savored. The cremma is thick enough to ferry a tiny person across the stygian blackness below and oh so rich. It took me a little practice to get the tamp and pull right, however I think I've found my stride with this beauty. Its enough to make me take up singing. Where did I leave my lyre?
Well - I'm ready to tackle this bleak frozen day!

Titans. There is a reason, as another poster in this thread so correctly points out, that it is called the God Shot. That moment where the grind, the tamp, the temperature, the bars of pressure dance with the barista's timing to produce a scant few drops of heaven.
Coffee it certainly is not! :)

This Isomac machine surprised me. Its not like the Carimali I learned to pour on but it's the best home machine I've used to date.

the guy with the ever-changing hair (sometimes mohawk, sometimes long, sometimes bald) at Passero's in Suburban Station will even put it in a little china cup for you. Not a bad way to start the day.

You know, they sell espresso and also a bunch of other stuff, including coffee makers and stuff like that. It's a really crowded tiny store. They make the best espresso I've ever had. I had to sit down once after I took a shot because I thought I was going to pass out. My heart was hammering in my chest, I thought I was going to die. Now THAT'S espresso. :)

It is the reason that, a month after being dumped by my boyfriend, I still can't make it through "I Believe When I Fall In Love With You It Will Be Forever" without crying. His music touches me in a way that no other artist's does.

a great way to prepare it. I drip my coffee at home, but enjoy a good espresso now and then.
Fond memories of my three weeks in Spain are drifting into my mind, and the wonderful wonderful cafe con leche!!!!!!!
As a person who often is accused of having a little coffee in my cream, Spanish cafe con leche was perfect for me.

we periodically enjoy an evening at an Egyptian restaurant here in Fw, and they serve Turkish Coffee..it is divine.
My husband who does not like coffee, always orders it when we go there; in fact HE is the first one who ordered it just because he wanted to try it and now it is a tradition.
Served with Middle Eastern pastries (not necessarily baklava) ...how heavenly.
