I am forced to deal with conservative classmates all day- I cannot hold a political discussion with anyone from my class pretty much, so DU is my political haven.

2. I spend waaaay more time on DU that with "real people". |
|
Not that you all aren't real, but I dont' have to put up with any of your unpleasant habits (nail biting, nose picking) or weird mannerisms (twitches, Tourette's syndrome). All in all, I think that makes for more pleasant interactions all around.
:silly:
I admit, I think about this sometimes, too. But I can enjoy DU in the comfort of my home, 24-7. You're a cheap date, DU. What can I say?

3. Some days I converse very little at work |
|
When I have a lot of lab work, I am mostly alone in there for hours. I have gotten in trouble in the past for conversing too long (like anything longer than 30 seconds) with people on the production line about non work things so I try to avoid doing that now. My boss is often busy with other stuff and moody. I take my breaks usually when other people aren't taking them. Our breaks are too short anyway and I need time to eat and read the paper. Being on a DU forum for more than 20 minutes often is more conversation than I get at work.

I check in here at least twice a day if not more. I get plenty of conversation at work, but it usually isn't as interesting. Friends and family don't like to follow politics as much as I do, so DU lets me have an outlet for my political side.

5. Just got hit on the bridge of my nose by a falling icicle..... |

Was chopping firewood outside. That'll teach me to venture away.
It's safer in DU!
