My hard drive got burned out in the Bush years. Romantic Movies? |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 05:54 PM by KoKo01
I'm trying to restore the burned out part of my hard drive that happened when the Chimp was selected in 2000. What started as a slowing of my hard drive to retrieve old romantic, altruistic, funny, comedic movies has through the years become a "wipe out."
After this last 2004 "Selection" I find my database is completely gone.
I'm trying to retrieve the lightest, funniest, most comedic romatic movies that my hard drive lost. The ones that you laughed and cried or hooted and howled over. The kind of movie that if you mentioned it in public today folks would scowl at you in disbelief.
IOW...I want my hard drive restored to appreciate some romance that isn't cynical, filled with grunt sex, gratuitous and voyeuristic and lacking in plot but filled with action. I want zany with plot, or comedic with romance but some sense of "innocent fun."
I know this post is weird...but I feel I'm becoming too cynical. I need some romance and some comedy to keep going.
And for those of you who don't get it. My hard drive is my brain. :D
Any recommendations? From any era...the best of the Romantic Comedies.

3. Probably not to your taste but |
|
The Secretary. Sure it's about alternative sexuality but it's deadly romantic and very funny.

4. Thanks..I'll try it. I've never gotten a bad recommendation here.... |
|
I even rented "Donnie Darko" on DU recommendation and loved it. So as long as it's not too Kinky and gratuitous...I'm okay.
(I'm one of those Tipper Gore types...but not all that bad) :D

5. I'm fond of the Goldie Hawn/Chevy Chase Movies. Actually Goldie |
|
and that actress Phyllis George was it. Anything Julia Roberts. Audrey Hepburn and the gal in "Pretty in Pink." (can't remember her name...hard drive problem) But I love John Hughes movies.
