It's supposed to enhance oral sex but if you need something artificial to enhance you just aren't that good at it to begin with. I have a few friends who broke teeth on the stupid thing as well. Self mutilation is stupid.

Which is equally as dumb.

Really find other than ear piercings unnatractive. I have even seen people with to many, for me, ear piercings.
Why? For many reasons, I would speculate.

3. Y'know how much it hurts |
|
when you're like chewing gum and you bite your tongue or cheek? Having your tongue pierced hurts about 10,000 times LESS than that. ;)
I loved mine while I had it...I got mine done AGES ago (because I'm a geezer :D) by someone who was apprenticing for some big hot-shot name in SF (that I either don't recall or never knew)...it was one of the best toys I ever had. Yes, I was one of the horribly obnoxious types that played with it incessantly. :D

Either the *extra* properties hadn't been discussed yet or I was incredibly naive...I just thought it looked cool. It was also one of those sorta tests you give yourself. Well, the kind I used to give MYself, anyway. :D

it looks like a barbell, the ends screwed off and it slid right out. Creeped people out by changing it or sticking a lollipop stick in it. (I'm 24 and my mom freaked about it and wouldnt talk to me for 3 days because 'its ONLY for sex!'. Thanks ma.

What was fun is the vibrating barbell I had.. :) Hub got his done the same time as I did - more of a if you do it, I'll do it type of thing.
The ONLY way someone knew I had a tongue ring was when I talked it sometimes it hit off of my teeth and make a clicking noise. Never had the funky speech or slur.

24. The first couple of days, when the tongue was swollen I slurred my speech |
|
But after a few days, it was gone. I've known people for months before they realized I had it. Because of work, I wear the "flesh" toned one, but even with a regular silver ball on, mostly people see the light reflecting on it.
When I was hired on in my current job (I'm a receptionist) my boss was like "well the owner doesn't really like them, but that's because a previous one got one and you could understand her. But you articulate well, so it's not really a problem." The owner's never said anything to me.

|
just because she's talking to me, her mother. :) She couldn't wait to show me the piercing, though -- I think just to see how I'd react. I was cool though -- I got broken in to this sort of thing with my oldest daughter who has tattoos, including three big dolphins swimming up her torso. Whatever....

couldn't wait to tell me that she just got pierced somewhere else, too -- a place she was too embarrassed to even tell me. She was so funny ... like, Mom, did either of my two blabbermouth sisters tell you what I did? No, what did you do? Oh, I can't tell you, really I can't. Well.......... Oh, all right (eyes lowered), I got another piercing, but I can't tell you where. === And I KNOW it's not her belly button because she already did that a while ago.
Hmm?! Well, I don't get it, but whatever floats her boat, as they say. I sure can't tell a 32-year-old what to do with her body. I just think these girls are kind of funny, when I remember I nearly passed out just getting my ears pierced back in the day with an ice cube and a sewing needle.

|
I never told my mom. There's just some things we don't talk about.
Oh yeah, and I'm scared to death of needles. Getting blood drawn is the worse. I have itty bitty veins.
But, want to get a tattoo. Right on. Oh, I was suffering while I got it done.
Get my cartlidge pierced. Yep. Eventhough at the time I was used to sleeping on my left side and that's the ear I got pierced.
When I had my ear lobes done, when I was like in the 3rd or 4th grade, I screamed.
But, damn a shot at the doctor, I'm a wuss.

kiss someone who has one, it's really erotic. I don't have one, I always wanted one, now I feel like I'm too old.
BTW, it's also good for other things but this will get locked if I mention them.

22. The truth about tongue piercings |
|
They're a leetle more painful - but we're talking seconds here. They heal faster and usually better than many other piercings.
Good point - oral sex reaches an entirely new level.
Bad point - people with new tongue piercings have an annoying habit of clicking 'em against their teeth which can drive you insane. Most people grow out of that.
Why? Lotsa reasons... aesthetics, fun, sexual fulfillment. Those are the big three. Occassionally, shock value, but that's pretty minimal.
Dating your kid? This is not the defining characteristic - ask rather how he/she treats your child, what their intentions are. Same old rules as the fifties, it just LOOKS different.
Khash.

I wanted one for a long time. After I turned 18, I had to wait until the end of the summer. Where I worked, you couldn't have one, but I knew at the end of the summer I would be quitting (moving for college). The weekend after I quit I had it done.
It doesn't hurt at all. It was kind of like when you get stitches, but the area is all numb, so you see it happening, but you don't feel it so it doesn't hurt.
I got it done Aug '99, and I've had it since. When I take it out to clean the barbell, or at the dentist, etc. it feels weird not to have one.

You'd think "never!". I know why they're there, but I guess I have enough faith in my talents alone, so I doubt I'd ever want to deal with any potential risks or discomforts from something like that.
