http://launch.yahoo.com/read/news/18312740We doubt an alleged manicure meltdown is going to do much for Foxy Brown's street cred, even if the rap diva is accused of going gangsta on two employees of a nail salon. The tough-as-nails hip-hopster turned up Monday in Manhattan Criminal Court and pleaded not guilty to belting two employees of Bloomie Nails in Chelsea following a dispute over a $20 manicure bill.
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, is facing misdemeanor charges of assault, attempted assault, and harassment stemming from the alleged scuffle, which occurred on Aug. 27 during a visit to the salon to receive a manicure and pedicure. The 25-year-old rapper, who made headlines recently for her role in rival Lil' Kim's perjury trial, refused to pay the $20 bill, claiming her nails didn't get the full treatment.
"I got the pedicure, but they didn't give me the manicure," Brown said following yesterday's hearing. "A $20 pedicure? Are you serious? Look at me," Brown told reporters, before showing off a set of new white nails to go along with her Dolce & Gabbana outfit. The rap star, a frequent Bloomie's patron, says the salon manager refused to allow the manicurist to finish the hand job because it was closing time--despite Foxy's pleas that she had to look her best for the MTV Video Music Awards the next night.
