Arrggh! Gas prices to peak just as we'll be undertaking long ride |
|
Denver to the Medicine Bow mountains of Wyoming, and from there up through the center of Wyoming, past Devil's Tower to Deadwood, around Mt Rushmore, and then down the East side of Wyoming and back to the Denver airport. Ack! Gar prices are gonna KILL us.
I'm glad I at least called and made a very specific reservation for a the smallest SUV they had available. They had us down for a Bronco!! At least now a Saturn Vue or something with more reasonable mileage that can still handle the mountains (we were told "they're usually pretty good in handling the snow we get in September").

3. Don't be so sure they'll be peaking. |
|
I think they'll keep going up from here on. They might hesitate for a bit. They might even back down momentarily. But I think, from here on, the trend will be up, up up, until we start getting our transportation energy from some other source.
Take your trip now. It will never again be this cheap.
