So my dog apparently swallowed an orange crayon... |

without chewing. Guess how I discovered that bit of information.

1. One of my dogs used to eat crayons. |
|
 When I was growing up, our dachsund Fred would get into our toy box and eat crayons. I don't know what his fascination was with them, but it happened. :P One Christmas, he got into the green and red ones and...well.. you can imagine....:yoiks:

Obviously they don't digest well, but that article says you're supposed to induce vomiting! I had no idea. Problem here is that our dog is a "stealth raider". She's very sneaky about the "special finds" she eats.

Fun to watch them towing the little train of turds around the house after them.
We were tinsel-free for years after that fiasco.

I figure either it didn't melt or one of the kids is making birthday cakes out of the piles in the yard, using crayons as candles.

I can't believe what they can swallow and not get sick..and then have it come out whole.
Brings back memories of my dear lab that's no longer with us. When he was about 2, he ate a portion of a rug and green yarn appeared in the yard for days.

26. We had a friend with a small dog who went through a dish of |
|
Hershey kisses. The odd thing was that he managed to remove the wrappers first. Most dogs wouldn't bother. I know that chocolate is supposed to be poisonous to dogs, but I suspect that depends on the breed. Our mutts eat anything that is remotely edible with no ill effect. They seem to confirm the new theory that dogs are descended from the wolves so dumb that they had to scrounge ancient dumps for food.

will eat just about anything. Unfortunately she doesn't have the cast iron stomach so many other dogs seem to have...she's a puker. That's one of the reasons I was so surprised to find the crayon "in tact".

30. We Had A Dog That Ate CD's and DVD's |

constantly. I am not sure what his fascination was with them actually. We had to put all of our movies and music way up high so he wouldn't get to it. He moved on to live wires after that (no joke here either) something wasn't right about Max. He was the weirdest dog we have ever had. And he NEVER had any medical problems either. We used to joke that he was the spawn of Cujo. He had to be! :)

There is also considerable debate on what happened to the plug that somehow got all corroded despite being in the socket. It's been suggested that somehow milk got on it. Behind the couch?!?! Sometimes it's better not to know the answers.
