Why do these celebrities engage in some of the really bizarre things - the clothes, the "look", the actions.
I guess some of it is shock value, some of it is to draw attention to themselves. Some of it is the emperor's new clothes.
I watched her video for "You and I" the other day. I didn't "get" some of it -- what is that Borg thing with circuit boards glued to her chin all about? How about the whole mermaid thing? The song is a pretty straight forward ballad about lost love, it seems to me a coherent and interesting story could have been told without resorting to weirdness. Maybe I'm just not sophisticated enough to "get it"? Or is it really all pointless nonsense?
