2. They need Peyton Manning. Desperately.
On the bright side, they'll get a No. 1 draft pick. I can't even watch NFL until then.

6. They should go for a solid backup QB that's for sure
since after Payton Manning all they have are a bunch of rejects from the Middle School Pony League in Indianapolis.

8. If I'm Luck I want NO part of Indianapolis.
This city already has him in a Colts jersey. Already they're looking at him as the savior. For a kid coming into his rookie NFL season, that is a hell of a lot of pressure that he doesn't need. I wish management would focus more on other positions to build a more solid team rather than look for Peyton's replacement. Also, how many star college QBs have been total busts as pros? Maybe Luck will be different but this team needs to be able to stand on its own, rather than be carried by one man who is totally untested in a pro environment.

As bad as Curtis Painter is, I don't totally fault him. He was never given the chance to develop exactly because of Peyton Manning not wanting to share the job.

Most of all, I fault the Colts' front office, for poor drafts plus the failure to acknowledge that Manning isn't Superman. They just need to chuck the entire operation and start over from scratch. Fans (fair weather, at that) will just have to deal with it for a few seasons (or more).

9. True, but we'll get a good draft pick.

10. The Colts Need A Defense
It's folly to build your team around a QB. They should trade that pick and get a bunch of picks and rebuild their defense.

Superstar QBs like Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, and Brees are extremely rare. Sure, the media loves them and they're great for business. However, to win consistently, you need to have a stout defense. You cannot rely on your offense to out score your opponents.

11. On the bright side
My wife and are in Indiana visiting her side of the family and her cousins gave us tickets to that game. We ate at Shapiros on the way in and bought a souvenir Colts Christmas tree ornament and had a great time...they made it exciting right up until the end. It was nice to see Marvin Harrison get into the ring of honor and fun watching Reggie Wayne get that TD.

Even when it's not my team, it's a lot of fun being at a live Pro Football game.

I had to quietly cheer on the inside whenever Steve Smith caught a pass though - he got me enough points to win my fantasy game this week.
