I have to say I'm jealous. I'd take Bobby V. back in a heartbeat, as a matter of fact I'll trade you Terry Collins, a case of beer and 2 buckets of chicken for Bobby right now. :)

6. Compared to what the Mets have had over the past few years

Valentine would be a substantial upgrade. That's not the case for Boston. Terry Francona is one of the best managers in baseball, so going from him to Bobby V. is really a downgrade for the Red Sox. I guess we could have done worse, but that's not really a glowing endorsement.

2. Valentine was a great manager for the Mets.

He led the team to a number of playoffs and a World Series. It will be fun seeing him back in the game.
