Anyone ever sue a yoga teacher for inflicting injury?

I don't want a million $. I just want her to pay for the body work which I HOPE will undue the injury caused by her.
I suggested to her that she do so and she hung up on me.
I think suits of this kind are hard to win.
I have 2 witnesses, the other students in the class who heard me scream with pain. Whether or not they would tell the truth is another matter. I also have told people about the injury since it happened (2 weeks ago)
Just wondering if it is worth it to seek out a lawyer or I should just concentrate on healing myself.

What are the laws of your jurisdiction?

Did the yoga teacher do anything that deviated from the standard for her industry?

Was a pre-existing condition involved?

What are your actual damages?

Does the teacher have assets or insurance that you'd be able to collect if you win?

I'd start with a call to your local bar association.

The Internet is a terrible place to ask for legal advice.

I was asking for people's experience if anyone had ever been in a similar situation.

...there are just too many unknowns and differences in any two situations like this. You have to talk to an experienced lawyer who is practicing in this field in your area. Forgive me if I am telling you what you already know, but generally speaking, lawyers will give you one free consultation to assess the case. I would say that if one will take the case on contingency you have a pretty good shot, if they want payment up front, probably not.

Or did you just forget the sarcasm thingy? I don't mean to be snarky; I don't know anything about yoga. How did you get injured? I've seen some of the positions they use. They look impossible to me (but then again, I'm almost 60, so anything physical looks impossible to me).

5. How would anyone know if it was worth considering a lawyer if you don't include how your injury

occurred?

Did you voluntarily do what caused your pain or did she physically force your body into a position that caused you pain?

Did you sign a waiver?

I've worked with personal trainers in the past and have never had one that 1.) forced me to do something I told them I couldn't do 2.) physically applied any force. I wouldn't have worked with those trainers anymore if they had.

Not a lawyer, but I don't know how even a layperson could suggest seeking out a lawyer with no details.

10. Unless your injury was the result of the teacher putting her hands on you

& forcing you into a difficult position, concentrate on healing yourself. She didn't force you to take the class.
