Some idiot dumped a half-grown tortie cat at our house. |

We live along the highway, but in the country. A couple of nights ago, I heard a car slow and stop. A bit later, I heard meowing. I thought it could be one of our barn cats, so I ignored it.
In the morning, we found the kittie. She is well-nourished and looks healthy. She is eating and drinking.
She will have to live outside with our other cats. Queen Claudia, pictured below, tolerates us and the dog. She would not accept another cat in the house.
The other cats are not chasing the tortie away. I hope they warm up to her.
I call our outside cats barn cats, but they are more like back door cats. They have a couple of boxes there where they nest. They eat well, and are comfy. They get lots of human attention, too. I wonder if someone who knows us knows that we spoil our outside cats almost as much as our inside cat. I hope this was not neighbor or "friend." People are so stupid.

2. I have had kittens dumped at my front door. |
|
Fortunately, I was able to find homes for them through local rescue groups.

3. I know how you feel when someone dumps a cat on you |
|
I had someone put a little kitten in my screened porch. I was pissed because I already had 3 cats and one dog that I can afford, but ended up keeping her. She's now 11 years old. She was less than 8 weeks old when she was dumped. I love her, but still.... I do not like anyone dumping a cat on someone like that because of vet bills, etc. Her name is Bryn. That's why I have a user name "Bryn" :) She turned out to be a treasure, thankfully.

4. I hate dumpers. They are cruel. We have two new kittens because of a dumper. |
|
They are super cute but we barely have room for them.

5. I loathe the ones that dump animals, but I do think animals find us. |
|
I am outraged at anyone that could betray an animal's trust by treating them so badly, but I will also say that I truly do think that our critters find us when we are ready for them. My most beloved companions (four footed ones, anyway...) have always come to me when I was ready for them--even IF I didn't realize it at the time.
Blessings on you for opening your heart to her. May you all find love and joy in each other.

6. I once passed a worried looking university student with a cat in her arms on the street. It was |
|
moving day and she had made no plans for her 1 year old kitten. She said to me "do you want a cat". I said yes because the poor thing could have been given to anyone and that is a bad thing. I had him fixed and put ads up with his picture. Found him a good home with a sweet family. Still - I'll never forget the confused and useless look on that university students face.
