The XFactor fact up tonight.... |
|
....One person can be an obvious idiot. Nicole(who the fuck is she anyway?) proved that tonight. The sad part is that putting a milktoast Marcus Canty through over the amazing Racheal Crow just shows how unappreciative of real talent the American public can be, which translates realistically into "idiots who can't appreciate true talent" As with Adam on American Idol, Racheal will be one-hundred times the success Canty will ever be. Bank on it. That being said, the only true raw talent left is Josh Kratchet. I hope he wins it all. Thanks for letting me rant, and fuck you Nicole, you know you screwed the pooch on this one. Non XFactor fans need not reply. Due to alergys, I've got enough snot running down my nose. Thanks. quickesst

1. Umm, I thought Rachel was cute until her "Mommy, you promised!" meltdown... |

I really feel bad for her, and I don't think they should open up these shows to kids like Rachel, Astro, or Drew... Seriously, they are too young to handle it.. They are minors after all.
Don't blame Nicole. She deferred to the vote count... Remember you are posting on a forum called "DemocraticUnderground" after all... Rachel got the least votes. She's gone. That's fair.
Of course I agree that Rachel will be more of a commercial succes than Marcus. But, she was not going to win obviously, by getting the fewest votes... And, neither will Marcus. So, whether she's 4th or 5th place doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things... I'm reading some nasty unwarranted hatred toward Nicole Sherzinger on Twitter, but I didn't expect to encounter that here.
I'm totally onboard Team Chris Rene... I bought his album Soul'd Out on iTunes before they yanked it a couple of months ago... He's original, inspiring, full of personality, and easy on the eyes... His original audition song "Young Homie" pulled me out of a funk and is the first song on my morning "Walk the dog" playlist. #LoveLife
Sorry you were disappointed, and I hope you allergies ease up... Have you tried OTC Allegra? That changed my life.
Upon edit: Clarified my subject line.
Upon second edit: I must admit that I didn't watch Rachel's or Marcus' save me songs... I was clicking back and forth between "X-Factor" and "Parks and Recreation" (the #5 most popular show on TV amongst liberals)... Once Chris Rene made it, I lost interest... But, I did catch Rachel's meltdown.

4. I avoided this thread til now (PST) but I can't fault her for melting down. |
|
That child has rallied and sung her heart out many times. She's a baby and it just got the best of her. Hell, I wish I had a Mommy to cry to and even to yell at every now and then. I'd have to see a lot more from a thirteen year ld than that befre I worried.
I'm seriously bummed she's out, though. I liked her best all around. And I think Nicole played the odds and lost.
Tw words for you though, kid...Jennifer Hudson.

5. Rachel is a star, no doubt.... |
|
She can turn a song out... However, I don't think I'd like to listen to her sing every day, though. Way too much.
On the other hand, I've listened to Chris Rene over and over and over again since his first audition... I dont' know what that says about me or my taste in music... But, Chris Rene's original music really touches me and motivates me... Simple lyrics, simple melodies, upbeat messages.... He's totally relaxed and smooth despite being a former meth addict, whereas, at the end of the day... Rachel seemed like a wound up child.

2. I feel most sorry for the host, Steve Jones... |
|
I think he's struggling... The judges have refused to answer his questions, told him to shut up, and tonight he let Rachel collapse to the floor... Even Marcus had the instinct to try to catch and console her.
He seems like a nice guy (and also easy on the eyes)... But, he's not the most human host I've seen. Some blogs call him "robo-host". BTW, my FAVORITE host of these kinds of shows is Cat Deeley from "So You Think You Can Dance."

If Nicole had imposed her judgement over the "will of the people"... Wouldn't that be like the same issue we are dealing with minority Republicans in the Senate today (i.e., blocking nominations or other legislation)... Or with Republican state legislatures trying to redraw district maps or change voter eligibility laws to thwart the will of the voters?
Democracy is what it is... She/he who gets the most votes wins.
Rachel got less votes than Marcus... Nicole chose not to veto the public vote.... It is however obvious, that Nicole was surprised at the outcome. But, she did he honorable thing in my opinion.

...but very disappointed she took the easy way out. It was obvious by her reaction, and her refusal to speak afterward that she knew she screwed up. The whole point is that this was their save me song, and Racheal blew Marcus away. The public did not get to vote on her performance, and if they'd had the opportunity I'm confident Racheal would have come out the winner. I would have liked to have seen them do the elimination on the following show so the public would have had the opportunity to vote on the save me song. Only fair. My opinion. Thanks. quickesst

6. I stopped watching after they fired Cheryl Cole. |

She was adorable on X Factor UK and Simon was a total ass to her.
