Bush: Too Little, Too Late

Amazingly, Bush said yesterday that he regretted saying "Bring in on!" (referring to the insurgency in Iraq)

But he also said he regretted it only because "it was misinterpreted in some countries."

How else could it be interpreted?

He just wouldn't admit that it was a childish, macho, foolish thing to say, which only made things worse and has led to the deaths of many Americans.

What a terrible shame...

2. He never really said "sorry"...just regretted it...he wasn't even

sincere...he tried to look anguished...just another bad actor....and he still was trying to make jokes...once again at an inconvenient time...

he was really being humble. He figured that he could quell the criticism that he is an arrogant, swaggering, cocky, self-important bigot and hypocrite.

But he failed miserable in that attempt by admitting that he only regretted that "some people in some countries misinterpreted it" (his "Bring it on!" statement).

3. My friend who writes for The Tonight Show wrote this:

"Today President Bush said he made a mistake when he said the words "Bring it on." He said "I learned some lessons about expressing myself in a more sophisticated manner." Really? I don't know how much he's paying for those lessons, but I think he's getting screwed."
