About BNF
They has an Advocacy Campaign Initiative serving organizations that wish to strengthen the impact and efficacy of their campaigns with media pieces in order to help tell important stories that aren't being heard or need reframing. An example of this work is the television piece they did for the California Nurses Association after it was attacked as a special interest by Governor Schwarzenegger. In a matter of three days, they put together a powerful commercial that helped the nurses get their message out in order to better represent themselves and the issues at stake for all Californians.
A tremendous part of what Brave New Foundation does is to use their film and media talents to strengthen the messages and efforts of their existing and growing list of allies. BraveNewFoundation provides a much-needed strategic framework to motivate change in policy and/or communities and is an invaluable tool for the creation of an informed citizenry.
BNF staff speak at conferences about media activism, how to use film and other media as tools, how to plan and host events, and how to document an organization’s work. Trainings also include materials such as tool kits for house parties and community meetings. Through collaboration with other organizations they not only teach a model but also learn, allowing each to reach their collective goals.
