An 'illegal' peace camp has been set up in Parliament Square, exploiting outright confusion over the law.
A group of protesters moved into the landmark square in central London to protest against the Iraq war vowing to remain there until after the handover of power from Tony Blair to Gordon Brown later this week.
The group calling themselves 'war is still the issue' say they have not and will not apply for permission to camp there despite the long running controversy over protests in Parliament Square dating back to 2003.
But, with police looking on from a distance, Scotland Yard said that it believed the peace campaigners did have permission to be there. ~snip~
