than is being reported when Texas is even mentioned. I would love to see more on what is going on down here. I myself registered 38 people in two days in the city I live in; a colleague registered more than 300. Most of them "minorities and military" and I think most will vote Democratic next month.

I'm in Round Rock, and this am 2 nurses that I work with said that they weren't voting and that they weren't keeping up with the election! One of them said she just couldn't make up her mind!

I live in the Ft. Hood area and the interest in Obama is palpable. It is exciting to see something other than Republican signs and talking points. Still this is a conservative area and it will only go so far into purple - which I think is the healthiest color politically. In the 60's the Democrats did get too full of themselves and became as arrogant as the GOP is today. Remind your colleagues that nothing flies with one wing and that is what we have had for the past 8 years; more if you throw in the Reagan years. We need to restore balance at the local, state and national levels so that politicians have to listen to citizens rather than lobbyists. Right now they hear the voice of money except when they need votes to continue to pursue the money. That is our trump card and it must be played. Voting for Obama is only radical racially, especially in the old Confederacy but not politically. Obama is only the most liberal because the GOP has gone so far to the right that they think the center is on their side.

I live in Austin and we expect to go heavily for Obama. The rest of the state? I don't know.

4. Even in lubbock

there are a lot of signs going up. Of course, not even half as many as McCain/Palin signs, but still, it's encouraging because it's better than it's ever been. If the young people will just VOTE this year, there's no telling what could happen. Texas is closer than many think.
