About foreign companies buying OUR politicians: Actually, I would sooner trust some non-US corps

than the ones we have here. Because in some of their countries, there are some controls exerted by the people (through their government - there's an idea we should try sometime).

Back in the early war-against-Iraq years, some here called on the rest of the world to "rescue us" from ourselves. Maybe this is the mechanism.

We the people cannot compete economically with American corps, but foreign corporations do have the financial strength to do so. Let's just sub-contract the whole country to the Chinese or an European conglomerate. Couldn't be any worse than the current "arrangement."

At least we'd get good health care.
