Medical markups due to "other costs". |
|
So, a hospital charges patients over $800 for a pair of disposable forceps that can be purchased at a medical supply company for less than $200. The hospital says that they need to markup those items to cover "other costs".
When opponents to health reform ask why THEY should be mandated to carry health insurance if they don't want to, tell them that when they end up going to a hospital without insurance THEY make up a good portion of these other costs.
