Focus on Family may pull out of conservative rally
Colorado-based Focus on the Family is considering ending its sponsorship of a national conservative political action rally because of the involvement of a gay conservative group.

The lobbying arm of Focus on Family, CitizenLink, is a co-sponsor of the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., next month.

CitizenLink senior vice president Tom Minnery told The Gazette that the group is participating partly to help offset the influence of the gay group, GOProud. But he says this may be the last year it's a sponsor.

Sarah Palin and Mike Hucakbee are among those invited to speak at the conference.

GOProud participated last year and one group pulled out. This year, the Family Research Council and several others are boycotting it.

1. If only...
If we were as cynical and corrupt as the Rethuglicans, we'd be funding GOProud and groups like it to invade ALL the conservative groups with flaming gender-benders.

Because it works.

Seriously - maybe all us disenchanted progressives who want to leave the Democratic party ought to join the Republicans with the express intent of sabotage and general insanity. I'm just afraid I can't think of anything crazy and stupid enough that they won't take me seriously.

"Let's revive Nazi-style torture and medical experiments!"
"Sure thing."
"Let's destroy the whole country's road system, so only SUVs can get around!"
"Sounds like a plan."
"Let's pollute the whole world so badly that only the strongest survive!"
"Absolutely. Let's do it."
"Let's kill everything in the oceans so they HAVE to buy corporate food!"
"Brilliant. We'll start right away."
"Let's outlaw intelligence! There's a reason they call them 'liberal arts', you know."
"Yep. Put it on the agenda."

2. Hopefully the beginning of the end
Focus on the Family is one of the most evil groups in the country.

But I DO like this. It's cynical, but as long as the pubs keep an anti-gay agenda, it means most gays won't vote for them, helping keep them from implementing their other agendas.

Keep that religious monkey on your back pubs, let it keep slowing you down.
