1. Well, no...because he didn't say it. |
|
To be absolutely fair, the "How do we beat the bitch" thing is just very silly.
I'm sure at least a few Obama supporters asked the same thing during the primaries.

2. McCain laughed when that question was asked, as did his |
|
audience. If nothing else, he should have objected to the B word being used about any women and a US Senator.
Add that to his fondness for rape jokes and disgusting joke about Chelsea and there is a good case to be made that his sudden conversion to 'feminism' is nothing but a campaign gimmick.

3. We're just talking about the "beat the bitch" comment. |
|
McCain's response to a supporter's comment at a fundraiser was not inappropriate at all. He ave it a good-natured chuckle and moved on.
Go for the Chelsea joke...go for the ape rape joke...the "beat the bitch" issue is a loser.

4. I respectfully disagree. I found his chuckle to be very |
|
offensive. He can't control his audience, but his chuckle speaks volumes to me.

5. He was playing the game...and most people recognize that. |
|
...because most of us have been in a similar situation and behaved similarly.
I think an ad showing his Chelsea statement with a big "SEXIST?" graphic would be much more effective.

6. His camp is attacking Obama for what they have redirected as a sexist attack |
|
on Palin ... when, like in the Kerry "botched joke", anybody not in their Big R Right mind would know that Obama was referring to McCain.
However, McCain did not correct the person asking the question, and got a good chuckle out of it. Now, the Media is hyping a non-issue as "FACT" ... to the benefit of McCain. But they never asked McCain to live up to the standards he is now demanding of Obama.
