How many here think CNN is significantly more Right - biased than MSNBC? |
|
I mean, apart from the fact that MSNBC produces Countdown and The Rachel Maddow show, I always thought that the rest of their programming slanted to the Right in the same way that CNN did...Lately (since McCain's been nosediving in the polls?)though, I'm seeing significantly MORE of a rightward tilt to CNN.
I saw something this morning which really got me steamed -- I could hardly believe it. It featured Frank Sesno and it's theme was "Will America vote in a Broad-based Liberal Agenda...or (get this!)..Will it have LEARNED from HISTORY?...Just as I'm thinking, "I HOPE they've learned from very RECENT history", they go on to show a brief old newsreel of Franklin Roosevelt and speak of him SOLEY in terms of the now-controversial "Fannie and Freddie"..Honest -- They EVERYTHING else, Social Security, Labor Rights, etc. then they go immediately to that popular Repuke scapegoat, Jimmy Carter...It was unbelievable..and it lasted a total of about 20 seconds before Sesno appears again saying "Well, on the other hand, maybe the voters want a change of that kind"..He may have made one more short sentence and that was IT..End of story..No positive newsreels, articulated sucesses, nothing. This, I suppose, was their absurd excuse for "balance"
It was such a barely disguised "warning" to viewers NOT vote "straight Democratic", that I was awe-struck.
I watched a few minutes more to note some of their sponsers for future communication and then went immediately -- and permanently -- To MSNBC.
What do you think?

2. I don't think it is that so much as they play the right wing talking points as the truth - |
|
In this effort of fair and balanced, stations like CNN don't realize that some news is just flat out lies...but it works in their favor, as the other part of this is that they are in it to make money. And runaway elections do not bring the eyeballs/add dollars.
So, just corporate shills, but in doing so, come across as GOP shills. In either case, I am glad to no longer be watching them.

8. All cable channels seem to burn out eventually |

CNN, rather than just submitting to an eventual decay of production values, has acquired a case of acute fasciphillia. It won't last long, one way or another. At least they didn't start showing Professional Wrestling before they went terminal.

of Countdown and Rachel Maddow and Tweety occasionally.
But CNN is in the middle between MSNBC on the near right and FAUX on the far right.

I stopped watching CNN it seems real hard to get decent coverage from the Democratic point of view it's like ever since McShame dissed CNN not they are sucking up to him . I will watch DL Hugely new show. Keith & Rachel are the only 2 news shows I will watch.

6. CNN has been turned, completely. |
|
Watch Lou Dobbs as an example. If you believed his piece on Acorn you would think Obama was personally resonsible for voter fraud. He didn't even consider the alternate argument.

I meant only sporadically...I'm home a lot during the day, unfortunately, and I'll occasionally just turn on "the news"...I NEVER watch Dobbs or Glenn Beck and the fact that CNN produces those shows, could have, I suppose, answered my question.
I was basically commenting on its "generic news" reporting.

9. William Bennet is as bad. |

The guy sickens me. Observe his bullying style of body language. He pushes his fat body into the space of the Democrat. If I was on the program I would smack his hand out from under him and say in a loud voice "Give us some room here Fat Ass".

11. I don't watch it very often so I'm not positive |
|
It doesn't seem particulary Right-leaning and I have heard some of those conservative pundits complaining about it.
