Are some conservatives in an alliance with some radicals? |
|
If some conservatives do not actually oppose a particular, small change on its own merits, then might they nevertheless oppose it on the grounds that it could be a precedent for future changes that they would oppose?
If some radicals do not actually oppose a particular, small change on its own merits, then might they nevertheless oppose it on the grounds that it could reduce discontent that would otherwise be available to push for radical change? Are some radicals concerned that small changes might have the effect of helping to preserve most of the status quo?
