Fortunately, it was defeated, but I was surprised by how many people went "Yeah, that's a good idea. We SHOULD elect judges!"
There have been at least two of those national "Justice Sundays" in our area, in which reagional churches sermonized and proposed actions against "activist judges".

My biggest gripe has never been with Christianity itself: it's with the use of Christianity as a convenient instrument to push a radical right wing agenda through.
