1. My wife has a colleague who |

just found out that his son has been critically injured in Baghdad. His vehicle was hit by a rocket propelled grenade. He suffered "critical injuries to his face, eye and broke his collar bone." I ABSOLUTELY HATE GEORGE W BUSH.

...to hear about your wife's colleague's son. What a tragedy--made even more so by the fact that he will undoubtedly receive inadequate medical care and his military benefits are due to be cut by the administration. The ugliness just keeps compounding, and the reason for it all? Well, suffice it to say, I can't answer that, and I am daily sharing more and more your sentiments about W. I'm glad to have found DU and know there are so many likeminded, caring souls out there. My cynicism grows daily, too, but I salute you all, and urge all of us to keep the faith.

a high school/middle school/elementary school classmate of mine just shipped out last tuesday.
also keep in mind that i'm only 19 (thus making him the same)
we always got along, but i never understood this kid. our freshman year in high school, his family moved to texas so his dad could take this "great job" with this booming company called enron. fast forward a couple years, they lost absolutely everything thanks to kenny boy and moved back up here to wisconsin. despite his family's struggles he still wholeheartedly supported bush, and joined the marines upon graduation because he believed that strongly in the "war on terror."
it makes me sick to think how many kids are going to be killed or wounded because they buy into all this bullshit about this "war on terror."
let's just hope he makes it home in one piece. i thought this war came close enough to home when a good friend of my good friend was killed.
will it ever stop?

I used to regularly visit lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx for an honest body count for the war in Iraq. The web site has a new address. Of course, I forgot to save the new link. Any help?
