Walter Reuther and Henry Ford: an apocryphal story
Walter Reuther was on a tour of the Ford plant when Henry Ford showed him a new machine.

"This machine eliminates ten workers, and you'll have a hard time collecting any union dues from it," said Henry.

"Just as hard a time as you'll have selling it a car," shot back Reuther.
