HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Police blocked off a section of North Main Street on Saturday afternoon after someone reported seeing a man drop a suspicious package on the side of the road.

Police cars, emergency crews and the Greensboro bomb squad surrounded the area, rerouting traffic until about 4:30 p.m., when they remotely exploded the device.
It turns out the package was a suitcase full of clothes, but police say it's better to be safe than sorry.
"Being very, very suspicious, we went ahead and called Greensboro bomb squad and they responded to the scene very quickly, went up and used a couple different methods and were able to open up the suitcase,” said Capt. Margaret Erga of the High Point Police Department.
Police say they're going to go through the contents of the suitcase to get a better idea of who it belongs to so they can question him.
The man was driving a red pickup truck.
