A SUSPICIOUS package brought trade at Flintshire's biggest retail park to a halt last night as it was forced to close.
North Wales Police received a report of a suspect package at Tesco, Broughton Shopping Park, at 5.44pm, and called the Bomb Disposal Unit and North Wales Fire and Rescue.
"Crews from Deeside helped in ensuring the public were safe in the car park and assisted police with the inspection of the package," said a fire service a spokeswoman.
Broughton Shopping Park manager Colin Gilligan said: "Tesco was evacuated early in the evening as a result of a suspect package and on police advice.
"The rest of the sites traded until they were told to close their doors, and we shut the entrances to the park and restricted access to emergency vehicles only from 7pm until the package was dealt with, and emergency services gave us the all clear at 8.30pm.
"Customers were fantastic and stores co-operated with the emergency services, and, thankfully, it was a false alarm."

Tesco workers, and they said it was a rucksack that was left. You can't be too careful these days and I'm just glad no-one was hurt, although I did panic a bit.
