Danville Police Deal With Suspicious Object

Law enforcement authorities deactivated the suspicious metal object outside of Danville Regional Medical Center, said Danville Police Lt. Mike Mondul. The know now that it was not an explosive device.
Central Boulevard and South Main Street were closed to traffic during the process. The hospital had been undergoing evacuation, but the emergency room continued to operate.
A hospital worker found the object in the basement area by a this morning at approximately 10:23 a.m.
Hospital spokesman said the suspicious device was located near power conduits in the basement and all patients are safe.
