DELAWARE, Ohio - A bomb scare Monday night closed a rest stop along Interstate 71.
A truck driver found a suspicious package attached to his trailer at the stop about four miles south of the Route 36/Route 37 Delaware exit. He removed it, not realizing any potential threat until he threw it into a trash can and noticed writing on the package.
A note on the package read: "Pipe bomb. Call 911. Ready to explode."
<snip>
Authorities examining the remaining debris said the parcel contained a white pipe with registration for the truck trailer in a bag.
State Highway Patrol investigators were still trying to figure out how the registration got there.
