MERRIMACK, N.H. -- A church employee made a discovery that brought out the bomb squad.
The worker at the Merrimack Valley Baptist Church found a pre-WWII detonating device while cleaning out a shed on Wednesday. Police say the device apparently was a fusing system for a large shell, and it was live.
The bomb squad packaged the detonator and will turn it over to the military.
Police learned the relic apparently was left behind by a military enthusiast who used to live in a home that is now part of the church property.
