Dover police concerned about exploding bottle pranks
July 21, 2007
DOVER, N.H. --Police in Dover (New Hampshire) say pranksters responsible for explosive concoctions left in a local park are putting others and themselves in danger.
The explosives are made from mixtures of household chemicals poured into plastic bottles. Chemical reactions cause the capped bottles to burst. Police say they found three exploded bottles and one intact bottle earlier this week in Longhill Park. They say the discovery is similar to a May incident at Dover High School.
Authorities say they have no suspects yet but believe people are learning how to make the devices via how-to videos on the Internet.
Last month Milford Police also put out a warning about the exploding bottles.
Police in Milford say the explosives are potent enough to char and deform asphalt.More:
