CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The Clarksville Police Department was quarantined for five hours, while specialists from Fort Campbell were summoned to identify a suspicious package found near the station.

After FBI agents and a U.S. Army hazardous materials team from nearby Fort Campbell examined the package, the 14 people who had been working in the police headquarters were allowed to go home around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Piper said he wasn't aware of any recent threats against the city police department.

Recently, a similar looking suspicious package was found and tested at Fort Campbell. It was also determined not to be a threat.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --
There were some tense moments overnight after Clarksville police employees found a suspicious package at headquarters.
Authorities say a man put down the parcel at about 7:30 last night and left the building.
The building was locked down and an area of several blocks around the headquarters was cordoned off.
After FBI agents and a U.S. Army hazardous materials team from nearby Fort Campbell examined the package, the 14 people who had been working in the police headquarters were allowed to go home at about 12:30 this morning.
