Authorities now say it was animal vaccine that resulted in Monday’s five-hour quarantine of the Clarksville Police Department.
The department was locked down at 7:30 p.m. Monday, after a citizen brought in a suspicious package — a syringe in a small box shipped from Puerto Rico.
City Communications Coordinator Missy Graham said the citizen lived at the address listed on the box. The package, however, was intended for a previous resident.

The substance later was identified as Fowl Pox vaccine, used for treating mange in dogs, and was identical to a package — also from Puerto Rico — another individual brought to the attention of Fort Campbell authorities Monday.
