MENASHA (WFRV) – Authorities have a man in custody for extortion after he left a threatening note at the Prospera Credit Union Menasha branch Thursday morning.
Shortly after 9am, an employee found a note left inside the door regarding a demand for a large sum of money and instructions about three different drop-off sites. If the demand wasn't met by noon, the note said, an explosion would take place.

Police Lieutenant Dennis Perschbacher says officers who went to the home had learned the man lost his job a few days earlier, his wife was terminally ill and he had been charged in a similar incident about 20 years ago.
The suspect is charged with two felonies - making a bomb threat and attempting to extort money from a financial institution.
