MOUNT VERNON - Detectives are trying to determine if a computer in a box left in front of the Royal Caribbean Food Market yesterday morning was placed there as a prank, or whether someone was just discarding trash.
The box, which was left next to the food market at 333 S. Fulton Ave., was blasted with a water cannon by the Westchester County Bomb Squad and was determined to be harmless.
It is unknown why the box was left in front of the store, police Chief Joseph Pizzuti said.
Police Commissioner David Chong said the box contained a desktop computer with heavy wires hanging out of the back that are not consistent with computer wires.
