Two Suwanee County schools were shut down all day on Friday because of a bomb threat.
School and law enforcement officials said a phoned-in threat against Branford High School didn’t appear serious, but they closed the high school and the nearby elementary school because they didn’t want to take any chances.
Although we don’t believe the threat to be credible, we chose to close for the safety of our students,” said Kellie Curl, a bookkeeper at Branford High School who was answering media inquiries Friday.

Tom Mullins, the School Resource Officer for the high school, said a man with a teenage or young adult’s voice called 911 to say some students had overheard a plot to bomb the high school.
