...though I own guns, shoot frequently, and believe that any Gun Control issues are absolute poison for the Democratic Party at this time.....worse than cutting Social Security or requiring everybody to BUY worthless Health Insurance from a For Profit Corporation.

11. We have often opened our home up to people in need ...

it once was a hotel and has far more room than we need so we occasionally take in people who have nowhere else to go or just need a place to stay for a while. We make no profit off our generosity.

And yes, we also own firearms. My daughter, son in law and myself all have concealed carry permits and we carry.

Having concern for your fellow man has little to do with owning guns.

18. I'm sorry but this poem makes no sense

Lets analyze this-
It implies (atleast to me) that conservatives will vote repub to keep their guns while people are homeless etc. Instead of just dropping the failed gun control agenda dems keep pushing it. If the dems REALLY wanted to help someone( they don't for the most part, it's a flaw present in many people) they would abandon the failed gun policies.

On a serious note, I really do wonder what the point of this was.

I voted for Obama. I supported a public option. I voted for my local D representatives. The 'Gun thing' hasn't impacted anything here.

I'm in this folder arguing against the party platform plank of needless and offensive gun control in the hopes of winning MORE elections. You note i don't post in the Atheism group. Why would I? I don't preach to choirs. I don't have anything new or interesting for them. No policy disagreement. Same for the environment. Same for almost EVERY group on this site.
